Pamela Herbst
Pam has been in the real estate industry for her entire career. She was a Managing Director at AEW Capital Management for most of her 35+ year career, until her retirement on 12/31/21. Pam was the head of AEW’s U.S. Direct Investments business with $32 B in assets under management representing all core and value add investment mandates. In addition to running the business, which grew by 8% per year, on average, Pam was a member of the firm’s Investment, Risk Management, and E,S,G and R, committees. She was also instrumental in the advocacy and development of AEW’s diversity, equity, and inclusion policies, and design and execution of AEW Academies, targeting ongoing, employee education.
Pam was an active member, playing leadership roles in many, industry related organizations including Urban Land Institute(ULI), National Association of Real Estate Managers(NAREIM), and National Association of Industrial and Office Parks(NAIOP) of Massachusetts.
Outside of the industry, Pam has been active in charitable endeavors including The Home for Little Wanderers( The Home) and the United Way of Mass Bay where she served/serves in Board roles.
Currently, Pam is an active Investment Committee member of Lowe Enterprises, an LA and DC based real estate operator, and serves on the Strategic Advisory Board of Catalyst Opportunity Funds based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Pam holds a BA from the University of Massachusetts(1977), and an MBA(1982) from Boston University. She resides in her hometown of Marblehead with her husband Bob and is the proud mother of two, married children, Peter(Ashley) and Stephanie(Ian), and grandmother(Pammy) to Emma and James. Pam loves cruising on their boat, gardening, skiing, reading, and socializing with dear friends and family.
