Lindsey Sands
Lindsey is Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Vicinity Energy, where she partners with business leaders across operations to navigate complex commercial negotiations, federal procurement, capital projects, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. Known for translating legal risk into practical paths forward, she brings a grounded “do more with less” approach shaped by PE-backed growth priorities and supporting the business as part of a lean two-attorney legal team. Lindsey has been instrumental in Vicinity’s broader growth strategy, including the launch of eSteam™, a first-of-its-kind net zero thermal energy product.
She began her legal career as a tax associate at Sidley Austin in Chicago and later joined Holland & Knight’s tax credit syndication group, also supporting the firm’s energy practice, experience that led to her in-house roles at Veolia North America and now Vicinity.
Lindsey has served for more than a decade on the board of New Ecology, Inc., a green building and sustainable design nonprofit consulting firm, helping guide the organization through strategy, policy shifts, and most recently the executive search for a new CEO.
Lindsey lives in Milton with her husband, Abe, and their three children, and considers Wellfleet her happy place. She is an avid runner (4x Ragnarian), regular yogi, novice angel investor, beginner drummer, and recent first-time dog mom. Lindsey is a graduate of Boston College Law School and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan (Go BLUE!).
