Robert Kretschmar

Bob Kretschmar’s career has been primarily focused on international investments. After business school, he worked for several years in London with Barclays Bank International and Robert Fleming, a large Scottish asset management company.

Assignments with Robert Fleming led him to manage corporate finance projects in Asia with their joint venture, Jardine Fleming. For about 10 years, he was based primarily in Singapore, completing corporate finance projects for Jardine Fleming’s clients. Subsequently, he raised assets from Asian investors for US based investment management groups, in particular the Capital Group and Batterymarch Financial Management.

After a few years working with Business Week magazine and other international publications to build up their revenues from Asian markets, he joined Chinavest Ltd. in Hong Kong, a private equity fund focused on new business opportunities that were being created by the opening of the markets in China.

ChinaVest’s mission and relationships led him to form Mexico Private Equity Fund, a direct investment fund focused on providing expansion capital to export-oriented manufacturing companies in Mexico and other Latin American countries. Since 2010, Global Capital Resources, a company controlled by Mr. Kretschmar, has been the primary manager of that fund.

He holds a BA from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
